Lauri Betlem will be the new leader of Elron

Lauri Betlem will take over the position of the Chairman of the Management Board of Elron and will take office on August 30. The employment contract of the Chairman of the Management Board was concluded for five years.                                         
                                                                                                            
The new Chairman of the Management Board was elected by the Supervisory Board from among the candidates nominated through a public competition. A total of 53 motivated candidates took part in the competition advised and conducted by Tripod. Elron's Supervisory Board met with eight candidates in the final selection.
 
According to Andres Allikmäe, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Elron, Lauri Betlem has diverse business management experience and meets the expectations set by the Supervisory Board, being the most suitable candidate in terms of both the profession and the management style. The Supervisory Board is confident that Lauri, as a good team leader, will continue to develop the successful changes initiated and achieved by the previous Chairman of the Management Board. In the coming years, Elron will need strong leadership both in the realization of train procurements and in servicing the expanding route network. We also consider it important to promote efficient operations and environmentally friendly principles at Elron.
 
Lauri Betlem has previously worked as a member of the Management Board of Baltic Workboats, a member and CEO of Tamro Eesti OÜ and Salvest AS, and as Marketing Manager of Valio Eesti AS. Lauri has a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Tartu and a Master's degree in marketing management from Vrije University in Amsterdam.
